TELUS Continues Consistent Dividend Growth


TELUS Corporation (TU) declared a quarterly dividend of C$0.61 per share today, which is a 5.2% increase over its prior payout and a 10.9% improvement over the dividend paid during the same period last year by the Canadian telecommunications company.

TELUS aims to improve its payout semi-annually, and has consintently done so recently, giving shareholders raises of about 5% in both May (4.8%) and November (5.5%) last year.

Shares of TU closed today’s session trading at $53.99, where the new dividend rate (and current exchange rate) produces a 4.54% dividend yield. The stock is up about 15% in the last year, and essentially flat for 2012.
