Sunoco Logistics to Split, Continue Distribution Growth

Sunoco Logistics Partners (SXL) raised its distribution for the 26th straight quarter within its third quarter earnings release. The partnership also announced a three-for-one unit split, and plans for 7% distribution growth in 2012.

Sunoco declared a quarterly distribution of $1.24 per unit, which is a 2% improvement over last quarter’s payout and a 6% improvement over the distribution paid during the same period last year by the energy logistics partnership. The partnership says it expects to accelerate its distribution growth by upping its payout another 7% next year.

The three-for-one unit split is expected to be completed on December 2.

SXL is currently trading at $96.21, where it now yields 5.16%.
