Senior Housing Reaches a Decade of Dividend Growth


Senior Housing Properties Trust (SNH) raised its quarterly payout by a penny to $0.38 per share this morning, locking in a tenth consecutive year of dividend growth for the real estate investment trust.

Senior Housing — which invests in properties for seniors, including assisted living communities, nursing homes, medical offices, rehab hospitals, and wellness centers — initiated its quarterly dividend in 2000 and raised it for the first time in 2002. The REIT has now given its shareholders a total of eight raises, bumping its quarterly payout by a penny each time.

Shares of SNH closed Monday’s session trading at $20.72, where they now feature a 7.34% dividend yield.
