NSTAR Increases Dividend For 13th Straight Year


NSTAR (NST) declared a quarterly dividend of $0.425 per share today, a 6.25% improvement over the $0.40 paid previously. The January payment will make 2011 the 13th consecutive year the energy-focused holding company has given shareholders a raise.

Shares of NST are trading at $41.97 (+1.08%) leading up to today’s closing bell, where they now carry a 4.05% dividend yield.

NSTAR has now raised its dividend rate by a total of 70% since 2000. The ex-dividend date for the payout announced today is January 5, 2011.
