Microsoft Now in Top Half of Dow Jones Yielders
Microsoft (MSFT), which raised its quarterly dividend by 25% yesterday, now features a 3.00% dividend yield. That’s 14th best among Dow Jones Industrial Average components, or nine slots higher than it would rank without the dividend hike.
Microsoft now sits between JPMorgan Chase (JPM) and The Home Depot (HD), which currently yield 3.16% and 2.90%, respectively. The stock was carrying a 2.37% dividend yield as of yesterday’s close, which would currently rank it 23rd, just below United Technologies (UTX) but above Caterpillar (CAT), which yield 2.52% and 2.27%.
AT&T (T) currently has the best yield among Dow components at 6.02%, while Bank of America (BAC) brings up the rear with a paltry 0.59% dividend yield. No other component yields less than 1%.
