Microsoft Increases Dividend 23%


Microsoft (MSFT) has announced a 23% increase to its dividend rate, boosting quarterly payments from $0.13 to $0.16 per share.

Microsoft had paid $0.13 each of the last eight quarters, and has now raised its dividend five times since initiating quarterly payments in 2004. By paying $0.64 on an annual basis moving forward, the company now pays double its original dividend rate of $0.32.
