Mercury’s Dividend Growth Streak Reaches 25 Years


Mercury General Corporation (MCY) declared a quarterly dividend of $0.61 per share within this morning’s third quarter earnings release, which is a 1.7% improvement over the $0.60 paid each of the previous four quarters by the insurance holding company.

The move secures a 25th consecutive year of payout growth for the Class D Dividend Dynamo, which has improved its dividend output annually since 1987.

Shares of MCY closed last week trading at $44.18, where they now yield 5.52%.
