McDonald’s Leapfrogs Microsoft for 14th-Best Dow Yield

McDonald’s (MCD), which raised its payout for the 35th consecutive year yesterday, now sports a 3.26% dividend yield, ranking it 14th among Dow Jones Industrial Average components.

McDonald’s now sits just below JPMorgan Chase (JPM), which yields 3.42%, and above Microsoft (MSFT), which pays 3.19%. Microsoft jumped nine slots (from 23rd to 14th) earlier this week thanks to a 25% dividend hike.

The fast food giant’s 15% dividend hike had a less pronounced effect on its Dow Jones yield ranking, but it did climb five spots. Prior to the announcement, McDonald’s had a 2.84% yield, good for 19th-best among its fellow blue chips. That put it between Boeing (BA) and United Technologies (UTX), which currently pay 2.86% and 2.81%, respectively.

AT&T (T) currently has the best yield among Dow components at 6.20%, while Bank of America (BAC) brings up the rear with a paltry 0.66% dividend yield. No other component yields less than 1%.
