Lexmark Initiates Quarterly Dividend, Yield Starts at 3%

Lexmark International (LXK) declared a quarterly dividend of $0.25 per share after today’s closing bell, a first for the printing and imaging company.

Analysts currently expect Lexmark to earn $4.35 per share in 2012, giving the company a very manageable 23% forward payout ratio. Lexmark also has a huge cash hoard (nearly $17 per share), so this is obviously a sustainable dividend rate.

Shares of LXK closed today’s session trading at $31.43, where they now carry a 3.18% dividend yield.
