Alterra Capital Reaches a Decade of Dividend Growth


Alterra Capital Holdings Limited (ALTE) declared a quarterly dividend of $0.14 per share late Tuesday, which is a 17% increase over the $0.12 paid each of the previous four quarters by the provider of specialty insurance and reinsurance products.

Alterra initiated its payout in 2001 and has increased its dividend output every year since, growing its rate by a total of 600% in the process. In addition to its rising regular payout, the company also distributed a special dividend of $2.50 per share last year.

Shares of ALTE are currently trading at $20.24, where they now feature a 2.77% dividend yield.
